Ahhh, the “S” Word!

Good Summer morning! I finally have the time to start a blog. I am super excited about this little chunk of my morning being spent in prayer with my Friend and Savior, Jesus. Today we have been conversing about the “S” word. That’s S with a capital letter, because I find it increasingly hard to do and even worse for me, if I don’t! The word is “Surrender.”
Maybe you have a hard time with surrendering, submitting, being humble under His gentle yoke, too. I found I was having a really hard time just relaxing and resting. I’m on summer break. What is the matter with me? Well, being in transition, changing careers or really subscribing to what God is asking me to do, frankly requires giving up my desires for His Perfect plans. If I really trust you God, then I would whole heartily move toward you and surrender to your Perfect Love. You are kind, gentle and your “yoke is easy and your burden is light.” As I slowly start to Surrender, I have peace and frustration melts away. My productivity increases, my service to other increases and I feel calm and serene. Whew! How’s that for a Summer vibe!?
God might be asking you too, to slow down, relax and embrace this time as He gently starts to get you ready for some new challenges ahead. Lately, I am sensing Life begins at the end of my comfort zone.
As I look out into my Summer garden, I sense His spirit to mine.  Faith, Trust and Belief are some Summer Adventures just waiting to be cultivated in the garden of my new willingly surrendered heart. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you WILL find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” { Matt. 11:28-30 NIV} What are your thoughts? Love to hear how you are doing this fine Summer day! 😉
