Song: Awesome God/ Michael W. Smith
Scripture: Exodus 15:2-3b (NIV)
“The Lord is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed.”
A recent Barna survey reveals that 43% of Pastors and Clergy are discouraged and considering quitting the ministry. The Barna report lists stress, loneliness, burnout, and political divisions as the leading causes. National Clergy month is October, so now is a great time to encourage those serving as pastors, ministers, priests, clergy, and chaplains with a card or a kind word.
Prayer: Jesus, we pray for those men and women in ministry. Isaiah 40:31 says, “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” God, I pray for a fresh wind of Holy Spirit to encourage and buoy up their souls, hearts, teachings, and ministry. I pray for fresh encounters with you to equip and relight their passion for you, their flocks, and church! God, send them much-needed rest and refreshment, along with some Godly encouragers. Lord, shepherd them mightily as they shepherd their flocks with your loving care. It’s in the compassionate and loving Name of Jesus, that we pray. Amen.
Decree out loud: I decree a fresh wind of holy fire is lighting upon pastors and clergy throughout the world! I declare a fresh passion and new infused energy and endurance that connects each pastor to the reason he or she went into ministry. I declare a fresh grace, a pearl of fresh wisdom, and fortitude upon every person in ministry!
Prophetic encouragement: We serve such an awesome God; He can do anything! He is bringing life to dead bones, weary and worn-out bones! Jehovah Jireh is our provider, and He is giving a new heart of flesh instead of stone! He is giving fresh encounters, dreams, visions, and fresh revelation to pastors, ministers, priests, and clergy. I see renewed strength and vigor upon these special servants of God!
