Day 43 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Day 43 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Song: When I Look At The Blood/ Pat Barrett

Scripture: 1 Cor. 11:28 (Phillips)

“No, a man should thoroughly examine himself, and only then should he eat the bread or drink of the cup. He that eats and drinks carelessly is eating and drinking a judgment on himself, for he is blind to the presence of the Lord’s body.”

Walls spiritually in the Bible have many meanings, including protection, strength, restoring our relationship with God, hardened hearts (Rev. 3:1-3), and a call to introspection. One way to strengthen our “spiritual walls” is to take Communion with great reflection. We can fortify our walls; we must strengthen the walls of our hearts and rededicate ourselves to His ways and His life, honoring Him above all else.

Prayer: Jesus, how we need you and desire to honor and worship you as we partake in Communion: the eating of the bread and drinking of the blood. (the juice) Thank you, Jesus, for breaking your body, so we may be healed. (Isa. 53:5) Thank you for pouring out your blood, washing our sins as white as snow. Thank you, for by your blood, we are drawn near to you. Thank you, we can enter your throne room of grace with confidence to find mercy in our time of need! We remember you, Lord Jesus! We love you, and thank you, Jesus. Amen.

Decree out loud: I decree as God’s ecclesia, people are looking into their own hearts carefully, asking for forgiveness and forgiving others and themselves. I see and declare surrender and gratitude on believers’ faces as they take Communion at church, at home, and at family gatherings. I see and decree Jesus and His heart of love exalted high with great honor and reverence in the beloved hearts. I declare the church drawing nearer and nearer to Jesus for such a time as this!

Prophetic encouragement: Get alone with Jesus, meditating upon His great love, mercy, and forgiveness. Draw near to Him and know His loving presence. Thank Him for His great surrender at the cross and obedience to God, His Father. Thank Him for saving your life with His holy blood. (Read Luke 22:14-20)

Day 41 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Day 41 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Song: Come Holy Spirit/ Vertical Worship

Scripture: Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17

“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”

Prayer: Jesus, we do not know if we are in the Last Days or not, although it seems like it at times with many crazy and evil things going on. Jesus, we need you and the Spirit to comfort, encourage and correct us. This is what prophetic words do, and we thank you for the prophets. Lord, you speak about prophesy and the prophets repeatedly in your Word, so we do not have to fear what we do not know about or that which we feel we need to control. We trust you and ask you, Holy Spirit, to be our teacher so that in the Last Days when people start having dreams, visions, and prophecies, we understand what is happening. It’s in the greatest Name we pray and ask this, Amen.

Decree out loud: After prayer, if God gives me the green light, I decree I will speak and write what God has revealed! ‘Adonai says: “In the Last Days, I will pour out from my Spirit upon everyone.” (Acts 2:17, CJB) Everyone will understand what the Spirit is saying to them. God says, “I will pour my Ruach, God’s breath, in the power of the Holy Spirit on everyone! I declare we can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.”

“I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.” Ecc. 3:14 (NIV)

Prophetic encouragement: Do not be surprised by Joel 2:28 or Acts 2:17! The Bible always speaks truth! In the Last Days, God says He will pour out His Spirit in greater measure, meaning more people! A great harvest, a great revival is coming, and people will need the Holy Spirit to guide them. People’s dream life and visions from the Lord will increase as well as prophesying. I see people who are awakened to the fact that God speaks in mysterious ways. Amos 3:7 shares, “Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets.”

Day 37 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Day 37 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Song: Christ Be Magnified/ Cody Carnes

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 (EXB)

“Then if my people, who ·are called by my name [belong to me], will humble themselves, if they will pray and seek ·me [ my face] and stop their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their sin, and I will ·heal [restore] their land. Now ·I will see them, and I will listen [my eyes will be open and my ears attentive; to the prayers prayed in this place.”

Prayer: Jesus, we are humbly seeking your face today! Lord, be magnified in our hearts and lives! God, we bring you our prayers and concerns about our country. They are many, and our problems seem insurmountable. Thank you, Lord, for your grace and power to reverse the tables! Help us to be holy and righteous before you. Let us say as King David did, “To the faithful you show yourself faithful to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious, you show yourself shrewd. You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low. You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.” (2 Sam. 22:26-29) God, turn America’s darkness into your glorious light once again! Lord, help us to stand up for children, protect them, and your holy laws. Thank you for seeing us and hearing our prayers! In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

Decree out loud: I decree that I have set God’s laws before me, and I will not turn away from them. I declare I strive to be blameless before Him and repent quickly of my sins. I decree the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in His sight. With God’s help, I can go through a barricade; with my God, I can scale a wall. (2 Samuel 22:23-25, 30) I decree all of this boldly with Jesus’ authority in me.

Prophetic encouragement: I see a holy remnant running forth mantled with the strength and anointing of Holy Spirit to change this nation and the nations of the world! Many prayers of intercession, salvation, healings, and miracles are occurring today in the power of our Resurrected Savior, Jesus!

Day 26 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Day 26 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Song: Fear Is Not My Future/ Brandon Lake

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 7:5-6 (NLT)
Paul said, “When we arrived in Macedonia, there was no rest for us. We faced conflict from
every direction, with battles on the outside and fear on the inside. But God, who encourages
those who are discouraged, encouraged us by the arrival of Titus.”

Prayer: Father God, you see where we are as a country. There seems to be no rest against the
wickedness in our land. Yes, we face conflicts daily, from outside influences, and this causes
fear on the inside! BUT GOD! The scriptures above say, you encourage us when we are
discouraged and even send the encouragers. Jesus, you are an encourager and so is Holy Spirit!
Thank you for helping and rescuing us as we cry out to you! Help us to spend quiet time with
you and in the Word. Surely, we will hear your loving guidance and reassurance. Thank you for
bible characters like Judge Deborah and King David, who were positive leaders to Israel, full of
wisdom and reverence for you. Jesus, help us to be courageous, stand tall and free in you, Amen.

Decree out loud: I decree as Deborah did, “March on my soul; be strong!” (Judges 5:21) I
declare as David did against Goliath, “who dares to defy the armies of the living God?” (1
Samuel 17:26) I decree we as the remnant, have been trained in our royal identity and authority
these past three years or so for such a time as this! I declare mightily, God’s plans will succeed,
and the enemy will not prevail. I declare we will stand strong and courageous! I decree we will
see the goodness of the Lord, and the evil taken away.

Prophetic encouragement: I see the enemies chariot wheels getting stuck, and their plans are
thwarted, in Jesus’ mighty power! I see wicked children’s movies and evil video games being
canceled and thrown away today! I see a resurgence of parents, and grandparents in America and
across the nations crying out to Jesus for help, and mercy in their time of great trouble. I see this
generation of children rising to take their place as evangelists, and disciples of the Word to the
great harvest!

Day 15 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Day 15 “52 Days of Prayers To Rebuild America!”

Song: This Is A Move/Housefires

Scripture: Deuteronomy 16:18

“Appoint judges and officials for yourselves from each of your tribes in all the towns the Lord your God is giving you. They must judge the people fairly.”

Prayer: Jesus, how we need you. Holy Spirit, open the eyes of our hearts and the ears of our spirit to see you and hear you speaking to us. Let us be so aware, knowing when you are working and moving. Lord, we are your remnant, rising to the call of these chaotic days. Help us to elect Godly candidates. Instill in me a desire to show up and vote because one vote, my vote does matter. Lord Almighty, our hope is in you all day long, so we will not be afraid. We know who we serve, and our eyes are upon you. We praise you and glorify you! Thank you for our country. May we stand strong, united in you! In Jesus’ all-powerful Name, we pray. Amen.

Decree out loud: I decree the remnant of believers are well, alive, and engaged. I declare this remnant is finding her voice and decreeing the words of the Bible. The remnant ecclesia is using her voice more and more to push back the evil and demonic agendas. She is awakened and no longer numb to Jesus and His power. The ecclesia is wearing her victorious authority as an anointed cloak! She is aware of and acting on what is happening in the world. She is feasting upon the words and moves of the Holy Spirit. I declare she will not stand for ungodly candidates in any election and will elect people who stand for Godly principals and morals.

Prophetic encouragement: I hear the remnant shouting in my spirit, “We will not be silent any longer! We will stand for Jesus and the gospel. We will stand up for our families and children.” I see the ecclesia standing at attention, on guard. She is standing firm with courageous faith, speaking the truth, all the while doing everything with love. (1 Corinthians 16:13-14) Hallelujah!

Push To The End!

July 10, 2022

As I swam my laps today, a still small voice within whispered to my wondering heart, “Push to the end!” I pondered what this meant. Holy Spirit, what are you saying here? I asked Him. In response, He whispered, “Not only push to the end but push past the end!”

“Push to the end!” I hear again, remembering our high school swim team coach yelling at us as we trained every day before and after school. So many times, races were lost at the end of the lane because a swimmer backed off their speed in the last few yards. The speed and momentum of the other swimmers could easily pass another racer at the very end of the wall to the shock and dismay of my teammate!

I am not a competitive person. When I swam in swim meets, I wanted to do my best and support my team. So, I absolutely know and agree with Paul when he said, “There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.” (Philippians 1:6 The MSG)

As followers of our victorious Jesus, we can all (not just the fastest!) push past the end of this life by holding onto His abundant strength, joy, and overflowing, extravagant love! Almighty God, our creator, and the Great I AM is not a God of smallness but great abundance! His very nature is abundant love and abundant care for His beloved people. Abundance is defined as overflowing fullness or abundance of the heart. I believe this is how our Father God operates! Out of the abundance in His heart for His people, He lavishes love, grace, forgiveness, strength, and provision upon us. He gives us more than we need, so we can finish our life race victoriously, with great courage and resolve!

The opposite of abundance or ampleness is lack, scarcity, shortage, poverty, want, deficiency and inadequacy. These are not from Jesus, the lover of your heart. Instead, they are from the enemy who comes to kill, steal, destroy and take away.

How the Holy Spirit Strengthens You

“I pray that out of his glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.” (Ephesians 3:16). Your inner being, your heart, soul, and mind are strengthened by Holy Spirit living and breathing within you! He gives you a sound mind and a zeal to seek Him! The Amplified Bible says Eph. 3:16 this way, “May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self.” [indwelling your innermost being and personality]

Jesus wants you and me to have a flourishing finish to this life as He jubilantly ushers us into our next heavenly home! But, we must “push to the end.” Jesus will help us to have more than enough strength and grace to push beyond the end! So, let me encourage you to give it your all as you rely on the love, authority, and power of Jesus Christ, who did not scorn the shame of the cross. He paid it all and has enabled us to have great endurance as we walk with Him, focusing on the end result: a heavenly home where the Trinity will be! In heaven, there is only joy, celebration, love, and laughter! Hallelujah! How we praise Him!

How are you viewing your walk with Jesus? Do you depend on Him? Are you trusting Him even in the most challenging moments? Do you believe He will help you in the hardest of your relationships? Ask Jesus for help and guidance, especially when you are offended and need to offer forgiveness. He loves everyone and desires that all would come to the saving knowledge of what He did for them (and us!) on the cross.

I love Psalm 56:11 (The Passion Translation) “What harm can man do to me? With God on my side, I will not be afraid of what comes. My heart overflows with praise to God and for His promises. I will always trust in Him.”

What about when you hear rumors of wars, famine, and pestilences spoken about in Matthew 24:3-14? Let’s take a quick read through these scriptures to remind us what to expect in the last days.

3 “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the age?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no one deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and shall deceive many.

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that ye be not troubled, for it is necessary that all these things must take place; but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in different places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 Then they shall deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

10 And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many.

12 And because lawlessness shall abound, the charity of many shall wax cold.

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.”

Psalm 56:3-4 (TPT) is very helpful to memorize when fearful. “But in the day that I’m afraid, I lay all my fears before you and trust in you with all my heart. What harm could a man bring to me? With God on my side, I will not be afraid of what comes.” God IS the Champion of our life! He will help you every time you call upon Him!

The Voice translation renders Psalm 56:3 as, “When struck by fear, I let go, depending securely upon You alone.” David, when he wrote this Psalm, was being pursued ruthlessly by KingSaul.

David knew a lot about what man could try to do to him. He said courageously, “I let go. I depend on you alone, God, for my safety, my life, and very being.” David knew how to push beyond the end because he knew where his help would always come from every single time. How about you? When the giants of this life overshadow you, what do you do? Do you trust in the Lord Jesus, or do you trust in your strength, your wisdom, or cleverness? If you trust Jesus, He will help build your faith and help push you beyond the end. And, such a glorious end it will be when we see Him face-to-face! I can see us standing in His loving presence, feeling the warmth of His unconditional love. We will indeed be known for who we are. The One who gave it all will come back to get you, His holy Bride!

Matthew 4:13-14 from The Message Bible wraps up my point so well! “Staying with it—that’s what God requires. Stay with it to the end. You won’t be sorry, and you’ll be saved. All during this time, the good news—the Message of the kingdom—will be preached all over the world, a witness staked out in every country. And then the end will come.”

As a believer, you may sense that Lord Jesus’ return is imminent. It sure seems so, as our world has gone through so many things since 2019. Many believe we live in the days leading up to the End times spoken about in the Bible. I have a sense this is what Holy Spirit whispered to my heart. Don’t just hang on, but push beyond the end! Keep showing up! Keep serving! Keep loving others the way I love you! Do not stop because you think it’s getting close to my return! Ask me for help. Ask for my endurance. I will help you go the extra mile! “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Do not just get by. You were designed by God to thrive abundantly and push to the end and beyond!

Pushing past the end in His strength and courage,

Love, Holly

Victorious Action: Holding the Baby Jesus!

“Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts” (Luke 2: 25-27).

What is the Holy Spirit revealing to you today? Do you realize God is looking to and fro throughout the earth looking for sold out hearts and minds? He is searching for those folks who want to do His will whole-heartedly and are listening to the Holy Spirit. He is looking for someone to bless just as He did Simeon. Simeon was described as righteous and devout in the Bible for generations to read. He listened and noticed when the Holy Spirit was moving. Then, he OBEYED! He had the opportunity to hold the consolation of Israel, the comforter, as the baby Jesus in his arms.

During the Christmas season, will you continue to look to Jesus, your comforter? Or, will you keep yourself so busy in holiday wrapping and trappings, that you miss Him?

Will you allow yourself to feel the wonder of His miracle birth anew? Will you rejoice as the shepherds did as the angels announced the King of Kings birth? I sure pray so!

Will you hold the baby Jesus in your arms and then let Him hold you in return? If you’ll do so, you will have peace, joy and contentment knowing He is with you and He is for YOU!

Joy or Junk-Filled Focus? {Part 2}

Image

Matthew 3:17 God and Jesus receive great joy in their relationship!

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” God and Jesus delight in each other and value their relationship so much!

Do we truly value our relationship with the Trinity?

Romans 15:13 “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Col. 1:11 “We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy!”

Do any of you ever worry? Do you remember what you worried about last year at this time?! What about today? Think about your current worries. Did you know ONLY 8% of what we worry about comes true? That leaves 92% of what we worry about, thankfully NEVER comes to fruition!! Praise God! “What IF…we decided that we would wait to worry!” Fred Smith the mentor to the wonderful late Zig Ziglar said, “I decided that I’d wait until I actually had a reason to worry—something that was happening, not just something that might happen—before I worried.”

The great theologian, Charles Spurgeon said it best. “Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, but only empties today of its strength.” Anxiety is a joy stealer!

That Friday (after the Boston Marathon and the Texas Fertilizer Plant explosions) I was having such a hard time, and my joy was gone because I was looking at the world and not my Savior! He gave me a dose of His JOY when I read about Zacchaeus in my quiet time, reading through the bible in a Year program:

 Zacchaeus story in Luke 19:1-7:

19 Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town. 2 There was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. 3 He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd.

4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way.5 When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” What was it about Jesus that made Zacchaeus respond right away! I think it was that Jesus noticed Zacchaeus and He knew His name! Do you realize God notices you, loves you, even adores and delights in you?! He calls you by your name!

6 Scriptures says, Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy.

Do we invite Jesus into our house ( which is our heart) with great excitement and joy, desiring to spend quiet time with Him, first thing in the morning or evening? Are you delighting in Him, eager to feast on His Word? Are you journaling what He shares with you as you study His life? Are you loving the Lord Your God, with all of your heart, mind and spirit? Have you fully devoted yourself to Him!

The joy stealers abounded in Zacchaeus day just like in our day!

In Vs. 7 we see, “the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.

They were not happy for Zacchaeus! They did not see the benefit of Zacchaeus coming to Jesus and receiving Salvation! Maybe in your household, in your family, in your friends, people do not see the reason for your relationship in Jesus! That’s okay, because God is the God who sees YOU. He will help you in your love relationship in Him, and He will be the JOY of your strength!

He will Restore your Joy! Lamentations 5:21 “Restore us, O Lord, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had!” Remember this J.O.Y. acronym: Joy happens because Jesus is Omnipresent in You!

I love Psalm 119:143! It says, “As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.” Do you have any pressure or stress today?

Find hope and joy in His Word. Let the timeless treasures help you!

Are you passionate and thankful for all Jesus is doing in your life? If not, ask Jesus to renew your hope and joy in Him! Ask Him for a fresh touch, a fresh revelation! Do you agree with me, that there is NOTHING like the fresh fire of the Holy Spirit falling freshly upon you! What I mean by this is, He gives you a special word, a thought, a promise in the Bible, that is divinely apportioned for you, TO YOU! And you know in your heart it is JUST FOR YOU! It’s like a divine HUG of joy and love! Because at that moment, you are experiencing “fullness of Joy in His presence!”

I have found a sense of peace and blessedness is ours, when we realize God’s supernatural work is creating fruit in my life. Knowing I belong to my Maker and my identity is rooted in His love for me, gives me this deep peace and a deep sense of joy. That joy is the joy of Jesus Himself, residing deep within us, through the Holy Spirit. His joy, because Jesus, is the Man of Joy, within your spirit, is one of the most amazing results of being at peace with God! Joy and peace are a result of spending time with Him and abiding deeply and regularly! In my Thursday morning bible study, we have been studying John and Jesus’ time with the disciples at the Last Supper. We have discovered, Intimacy with God is like the closeness a husband and wife experience in truly “knowing” each other. Being joyful is a state of our soul and spirit intermingled with Christ’s.

Joy comes from a secret intimacy with our Savior, through the Holy Spirit living within.

Flowers of Joy! (excerpt from my Flowers of Grace book)

Do you wake up joyful, thankful for a good’s night rest, (because I sure am, when I sleep the entire night! Because…it seems to happen less and less at my age!) or do you wake up, dreading the day? We know don’t we, it doesn’t take much to steal our joy away! Just turn on the news, right?! Or, a diagnosis from out of nowhere, you receive a call from your child’s principle, you or someone dear to you, receives a layoff notice. There are just a 1,000 different things that can happen daily, that can dampen our mood and take our good/positive God attitude down several notches!

I love to garden! My Spring time just been beautiful so far! Isa. 5:7 says, “We are the garden of His delight!” I love that! Gardens are walked in, looked at, admired, spent time in, refreshing, aromatic, soothing and delightful. That is how God views you. He likes you and loves to be with you! If you are sad, then He will turn “your tears into shouts of joy, praise and thanksgiving.” (Ps. 42:3-4) Your heart will rejoice and praise Him as He is your Rock, your Strength, your Deliver and your Joy!

Gardens have such an enticing fragrance to them. The flowers beckon us to come to the garden, to enjoy, rest and stay awhile. I think God created flowers to have such lovely fragrances on purpose, so we would pause and remember Him. Our minds are linked to the sense of smell, as it is the most powerful sense we have. Memories are stirred when we smell certain flowers. Let the flowers in your garden be a physical reminder for you of God’s lavish love, joy and extravagant promises.

So, how do we draw a line in the proverbial garden soil, and allow God the reigns of our lives, so we can go back to our default position of Joy in ALL circumstances?

I have to admit, I am not ALWAYS joyful! Imagine that! I tend to keep myself really busy, so I can have delayed grief when something goes wrong. Are you like this? We can “numb out” to the pain! I am a volunteer lay Counselor at a non-profit Christian counseling center. We tell our clients, “if you can name your feelings, then you can help tame them!” But, you need to verbalize them and get them outside of your head!

At the end of a really hard day recently, in my prayers, I had to surrender the circumstances up to God, realizing there was nothing I really do but RELY ON HIM and the LOVE He has for me! I think it’s knowing and believing Jesus is still on His Throne, He is in control and I can go right back to Him, knowing He, through the Holy Spirit is in me. He’s my Center and I can stay grounded in Him! There is a huge tug-o-war going on to steal your joy! The enemy’s biggest tool is fear, doubt and discouragement! If he can lead you down this path, then he can render you ineffective as a believer, with a tarnished witness, that is joyless, and jaded. God can DO anything! Certainly, He can get you out of a bad mood, out of despair and into His precious light where healing can begin!

Do not agree with the doubt, discouragement or fear! It is not of the Lord! It comes from the enemy of your soul.

Heb. 1:9 Jesus was anointed with the “oil of joy!” Jesus is a joyous Savior and He shares His joy with us through the Miracle within, the Holy Spirit! As a result, we have a claim to the consistent experience of HIS undiluted joy and passion for us!

“ And the peace of God, which transcends(surpasses) all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:7

God will delight you with His presence. Psalm 27:4

In Matthew 3:16-17, we see God and Jesus receive great joy in their relationship! These verses say: “ After His baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” Isn’t this fantastic!? God let everyone know how much He loved His boy!

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 5:13) Joy and peace are friends! Isn’t it great, they walk side by side each other when we trust God?!

“Everywhere He leads us in triumphant processional, in the fragrance and knowledge of Him.” (2 Cor. 2:14) Breathe in His joy and smell the flowers blooming. This is a sign of God’s favor and love for you. This is His wellness in you. This is His blessedness to you!

Let your spirit of joy soar within you and outside of you, so you may touch others with Jesus’ magnificent and extravagant love. You are the best testament to our dying world of God’s grace and loving-kindness. Like the beautiful shades of pink, red, lavendar and peach roses in my garden, you will refresh and remind someone else of God’s lavish love because you have been filled and touched by Him. Image

Can God, even in our sufferings, bring something good out of devastation? Yes. God is pure and good, all the time. As we participate with Him, moving in faith and trust (even when we do not know how something horrible is going to turn out), He will bring something good to fruition. It probably will not be what you are expecting, but who are we to decide what our sovereign and glorious God can and will do? His ways are so much higher than ours!

Zechariah 4:6b tells us how to live and move in the Spirit: “‘Not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” We are to move, act, and decide by His Spirit, not by our own strength or accord. I certainly can tell when I am moving in my own strength or accord! I am confused, and I need His emotional guidance, definitely not the world’s advice. As my emotional counselor, the Holy Spirit helps me to recognize my negative thoughts. He helps me to see and clarifies my thinking when I am acting out and allowing negative thoughts to direct me. He helps me and clears up my erroneous perspective. When I ask for help and guidance, He moves me into healthy thinking and healthy living. I just need to remember to ASK for help! I need to go in His strength each day, not my own. How about you? Do you sometimes forget to ask God for His strength, His guidance, and His presence to go with you? I know I do.

Powerful emotions and feelings of overload, confusion, fear, anger, jealousy, frustration, disappointment, inadequacy, guilt, unforgiveness, and being lost in our sins and loneliness leave us in a place of trying to do it on our own. We habitually make decisions in our own strength and intuition. These emotions are the strongest indicators that we need the Holy Spirit’s guidance and truth in our circumstances. How many times have you heard of a huge fire, burning out of control, and yet, the homeowners will not leave their homes? The authorities have ordered them to “LEAVE NOW. We cannot protect you or your home. The fire is too intense and moving too quickly.” So many of us choose to remain where we are, take our chances and fight. Is this obedience or defiance? Stubbornness? Pride? The enemy of your soul wants you to stay in this stuck mode. Recognize your state and ask God for direction. Pray for forgiveness for trying to move in your own strength instead of relying on Him. Accept His forgiveness. He will set you free, and your spirit will be lifted out of despair.
